The history of the Junior International Club goes back more than 20 years. In 1983, the JIC was formed in New York by the following people:

As the eighties began, America, once a haven for the world’s deprived and dispossessed, was surprised to register a new wave of immigrants from the Old World. Disadvantaged they were not, these scions of Europe’s titled and wealthy dynasties. Disillusioned, yes, with the lack of challenging opportunities in their own countries. America, and New York in particular, had become “Paradise Sought” for a young generation of enterprising Europeans intent on working hard and sampling the heady freedom of megapolitan life.

The Junior International Club was set up by Ludovic Autet, Marc Biron and some good friends to help the new arrivals to meet their American counterparts on an exclusive social and cultural plane, and to benefit from the career contacts established at club events. In the meantime, European capitals, less disrupted by the shaky world economy and the October crash, were regaining their appeal as bases for young enterprising people. To provide them with a suitable forum for the promotion of social, cultural and business contacts, it was decided to export the Junior International Club to Europe. Patricia von Taufkirchen was leading the European counterpart together with Frank Thoma into a worldwide-united understanding of lifestyle for young urban professionals. Since this time the Junior International Club was becoming the world’s first global lifestyle community, with members in more than 50 countries.
