Facebook:

you signed with the Devil

Despite the ban,

nearly 20% of 8-12 year olds

have a Facebook account

A study by TNS Sofres, 18% of children aged 8 to 12 have a Facebook account so that they are prohibited by the terms of use of social networks, but their parents are aware in almost all cases (97%). More broadly, 48% of 8-17 years reported having "open an account or created a profile on a social networking site," according to this study for the National Union of Family Associations (UNAF), the National Commission of informatics and Liberties (CNIL) and the association Action innocence. When asked about the name of the social network they attend, all cited spontaneously Facebook, while 3% also cited Skyblog My Space and 1%.

You agree three contracts when you register with Facebook:

- The Privacy Policy, which describes what you can show or hide your data (nothing to declare, nothing shocking in this contract, even if his playing reminds the need that is not good to just show everybody, despite the default settings of Facebook, which provide access to all).

- Principles of Facebook, which describe the foundations and theory (nothing to declare again, you said above you're free to stay or not to share or not ...)

- And the largest, most informative: the Declaration. Who is this time more rights on your Facebook data. There we find some articles for some amazing ... Like it so surprising:

In case you change your phone number or turn off your mobile phone account, you will set your account up to date on Facebook within 48 hours.

2.4. With the setting "everyone", you allow everyone, including people who do not use Facebook to have access to this information and use, but also to associate with you (ie ie, your name and your profile picture).

Clearly, photos and anything you fill in your profile are accessible to all, if you let handle your Facebook privacy settings.

Given the importance of Facebook, it means that anyone typing your "First Name" into a search engine has all the chances to find and access "Your Profile" in the first engine results. Before even your personal site, business or blog. Keep always in mind that your profile will become your new image ... to everyone, not just on Facebook!

4.5. You will not use Facebook if you are under 13 years.

There are those who "offer" a Facebook account for their children. Below 13 years is prohibited!

Privacy Policy Facebook's hands even layer on the topic: Children under 13 should not register on Facebook or provide us with personal information about them. If we learn to have collected such personal information from a child under 13 years, we will delete that information as soon as possible. If you think you have found information from a child under 13, please contact us through this help page.

The "interesting":

2.1. [...] For more photos or videos [...] you grant us a non-exclusive, transferable, sublicensable, royalty-free world [...]. This intellectual property license terminates when you remove your content [...], unless your account is shared with other people who have not deleted.

The moment you share a photo or video on Facebook, you give them rights to it - you lose on your side - and that of the market! And this without any financial consideration. Facebook does not pay you, even if they sell your photos to others. However, you can ban them ... this operation by removing the photos and videos from your account. Unless others have taken your photos and videos in the meantime, on their own walls ...

10.1. your name and profile picture may be associated with the commercial content [...] (such as a brand that you indicate love) that we distribute. You give us permission to use your name and profile picture in association with such content, in accordance with the limits you set.

Facebook has the right to use your name, photo, in commercials! Hopefully they will be to your taste.

Note that Facebook says you can associate particular "what you say love." It could very well put on a political party, some type of meetings, underwear ...
