soon in the Paris subway
RATP will launch a bid to help 5 million daily users of the Paris metro to benefit from efficient access to the Internet via 3G, according to the November 26 release. The board sent a letter on October 5 with four mobile operators in France (Orange, SFR, Bouygues and Free), inviting them to be a candidate. The chosen operator would have the exclusive deployment of 3G across the network and the RATP affect a "sort of profit to sales." Some operators are skeptical that a single operator is sufficient to ensure a quality service to millions of travelers and ARCEP has been asked to rule competitively.
